SITA Announcement
July 7, 2011
Dear Current and Former SITA Members:

On behalf of SITA’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors, I am pleased to share some exciting news with you!  As you know, several years ago SITA established a committee to explore the possibility of forming a merger with the Organization of Spirit Industry Providers (OSIP).  The SITA committee members reached out to the leadership at OSIP on several occasions, and until recently, a coming together of the organizations did not progress past initial talks.

Discussions between our two organizations have advanced over the past few months, and interest in a unification of SITA and OSIP is now a clear priority for both parties.  The SITA Board of Directors has unanimously voted to move forward with the intent of merging with OSIP to form one trade association that will serve the spirit industry as a whole.  We will begin this process by holding a joint conference in Las Vegas on September 27-28, 2011.  The conference will be a collaboration of programs from previous OSIP and SITA annual meetings.  A combined leadership team is currently being established to transition the two entities into one.

An official Press Release will be distributed publicly and will contain specific conference registration and membership information.  The combination of the two trade associations will allow all cheer and dance companies come together with the common goal of strengthening and growing the spirit industry as a whole.  I urge all SITA members to make a special effort to attend the SITA-OSIP Joint Conference in September and to renew your membership in what will be an even stronger, more comprehensive and all-encompassing trade association!

Be on the lookout for the Official Press Release to come in the next few days and please be in touch if you have any questions.  I look forward to seeing each of you in September!

Sincerely,
Mike Pare
Chairperson, SITA
